At its heart is the BAFANG 2nd Gen H730 auto-shifting motor — a 250W rear hub motor with a 3-speed automatic transmission that reads your speed and the gradient and changes gear for you, with zero input required. Torque has been increased from 40 N·m to 50 N·m versus the 2025 model — a 25% increase you'll feel pulling away from the lights with a loaded rack, or climbing that hill near the office that always felt steeper than it should. A winner of the German Design Award 2026, it delivers smooth acceleration and confident climbing, even on steep city slopes.

A dual-sided torque sensor mirrors your pedal input instantly, delivering silky-smooth motor intervention from standing starts at traffic lights to long-distance cruising — eliminating the "jolting" sensation common in budget e-bikes. The upgraded 2.4-inch IPS smart display delivers clear ride data at a glance and introduces NFC power-on: simply tap your phone or NFC card to unlock. The unibody aluminium folding frame improves structural rigidity while keeping the bike practical for storage and transport — and at a claimed 19 kg, it now adds a magnetic latch to secure the bike when folded, making the folded bike noticeably easier to carry. Fully integrated front and rear lights are built directly into the frame and rear rack for a sleek look and enhanced visibility, day or night. The AQS 2.0 system and aluminium alloy rear rack with MIK support let you attach or remove accessories like racks and bags in seconds, without tools. 

Range for real journeys

A 37V 10Ah removable seatpost battery keeps the Air series' slim, lightweight frame design while making charging and removal simple. Under ideal conditions it delivers a range of up to 100 km, and the included 42V 2A charger supports standard UK mains and fully charges in approximately 4–6 hours. (Range is a manufacturer estimate and varies with rider weight, terrain, tyre pressure, assist level, temperature, and riding style — expect 60–70% of the figure in real-world use.)
